How to Join
1. Submit an Expression of Interest
Prospective members are encouraged to contact the Club or attend a training session or come-and-try activity before applying for membership.
An Expression of Interest helps the Club introduce new paddlers to Club culture and safety requirements, understand paddling experience and goals, and ensure new members are a good fit for Club activities and operations.
2. Membership Application
Applicants will be asked to complete a membership application form and provide any information reasonably required by the Committee.
3. Committee Approval
Membership applications are subject to approval by the Committee of Manu Kai Outrigger Canoe Club Inc.
4. AOCRA Membership Requirement
All members of Manu Kai must also hold current financial membership with the Australian Outrigger Canoe Racing Association (AOCRA).
AOCRA membership is separate from Club membership and must be maintained independently.
Current AOCRA membership is required for participation in training, racing and sanctioned events, official Club paddling activities and insurance coverage associated with the sport.
Dual Membership
Manu Kai welcomes paddlers who may also belong to other paddling clubs. Members are not required to nominate Manu Kai as their primary club for participation in training or social paddling.
Members competing in sanctioned events must nominate a competition club in accordance with AOCRA and event rules.
Manu Kai means ‘bird of the sea’.
We believe community, culture and competitive success fly together .
